Integrate your collaboration activities using a strategy map

There are different types and forms of collaboration, which are performed at different levels within your business and need to be integrated.

  1. Project and workplace collaboration: This is very much based around completing defined tasks in a set period of time with hopefully agreed outcomes and is typically collaboration work that you have to engage with and complete.
  2. Function and Group collaboration: This is more about best practices and ways of working, providing information and insight into how your function, group operates and it is your choice whether you participate or not
  3. Organisation collaboration:  Having collaboration take place in project teams and functions is good but the knowledge and insight remains in these silos.  Organisational collaboration helps you and your organisation to share, communicate, innovate and become more profitable.
  4. External collaboration: This is similar to organisational collaboration even to the point where collaboration is occurring globally.  The key difference is that that it is collaboration outside the "organisational physical and logical boundaries"; it is beyond the infamous firewall.  Collaborative relationships and partnering with other organisations and businesses is becoming the norm and therefore must be easy and natural to complete.

Uncover the benefits of developing a collaboration strategy for your business by conducting a strategy map workshop based on BS 11000 framework specification - collaborative business relationships.
